Pepsi Refresh Initiative-
For more information go to www.goodcollab.org, or send an email to center4good@gmail.com
"I was hoping you would help support an initiative that would inspire and help
underprivileged high school students earn a college education , while
simultaneously raising money for non-profits. All you have to do is text

done everyday .

The project that we are trying to fund is called the Center for Good, whose
mission is to:

• Help underprivileged youth get to college by focusing them on academics
and positive extracurricular activities (sports, music, the arts, debate, etc),
as well as providing them with college level tutoring and mentors (from local
universities, such as Stanford)
• Host events for individuals with special needs, such as the elderly and
children with disabilities
• Hosting nightly fundraising events to sustain the project itself and
fund a variety of non-profits in different sectors (medical research,
scholarships, the arts, environmental, etc)"

Friendship Invitation and Help for African/African Descent Students/Scholars and Families
"I hope you are enjoying the end of the summer and all is well with you. If you
have just come to the U.S.A, or to Minnesota, I can imagine it has been quite
an adjustment as you begin the challenge of a new academic and social
environment and miss seeing family and friends.

I work in partnership with several Christian based organizations and volunteers
that help international students, scholars and families (regardless of their
religious beliefs) feel welcomed here in the U.S.A. and assist them in settling
in at colleges and universities in the Twin Cities. I am particularly
interested in seeing that African/African Descent students, scholars, spouses,
and their children receive the help they need, are well oriented and informed
about opportunities available to them on the campus and in the community and
know where they can feel comfortable seeking practical and confidential help
and encouragement when needed.

Some of the areas we provide services in or might be able to help you include:

finding resources (sorry, not money, but food you like, winter clothes,
furniture, transportation, etc)

learning to navigate the system at the U, in Minnesota and in the U.S.A.

learning about American life, education, culture and customs.

meeting new American and African/African Descent friends and families at the U
and in the Twin Cities.

Finding activities for your child(ren) and/or spouse and discussing concerns
about their adjustment here.

Participating in Free English classes, and free or inexpensive outings, trips,
activities, concerts, plays etc with American volunteers and internationals
from other countries.

Opportunities to visit a church to observe or participate in services, ask
questions and discuss spiritual topics with others from the same or different
spiritual

make connections and network you for a more enjoyable and less stressful
educational experience.or discussion groups and

I would be happy to meet with any interested students, scholars or family
members to see if I could be of assistance to anyone or just to say, "WELCOME!
We are glad you are here!" I am sure the ASA also welcomes you and and invites
you to join in their programs and activities.

Please visit the websites below to see if you and/or your family members are
interested in observing or participating in any of the services or activities
mentioned. All are welcomed regardless of your religious background or beliefs
or how long you have been at the U, in Minnesota or the U.S.A.
